Accounting is a driving force to promote the economic growth at the national and global levels in this century. New business creation and job opportunities are the main concern of every organization in today’s highly competitive business market. To promote the economy through entrepreneurial thinking and to catalyze capital formation, it is therefore necessary to promote the accounting education among the younger generation to implement various ways for creation and catalysis. Accounting undergraduate programs are and will continue to be the core subject of education in our highly specialized and competitive environment.

Starting academic year 2021-2022, the Admissions Criteria for Business Programs will be as following:

  • A minimum High School Average of 70% for Advanced or Elite Track or 75% for General Track or equivalent in Standardized International.
  • EmSAT score of 1100 for English Language or an equivalent English Proficiency Test approved by the CAA.
  • EmSAT score of 600 for Arabic Language. Alternatively, international students can register for a non-credited Basic Arabic Language course at the institution.
  • EmSAT score of 600 in Mathematics or equivalent.
  • Passing a personal interview set by the College of Business in addition to other conditions of admission set by the university.
  • Conditional admission can be allowed for not achieving the Arabic Language EmSAT score but not for English Language or overall High School Certificate.

A bachelor degree is granted after a successful completion of the required credit hours and cumulative grade point average as following:

  • A student must complete 123 credit hours as follows:
    • University Requirements Courses: 27 credit hours
    • Elective Courses: 3 credit hours
    • Core Courses: 51 credit hours
    • Major Courses: 30 credit hours
    • College and Free Electives: 12 credit hours
  • The minimum cumulative grade point average required for a bachelor degree is 2.00.
  • Transfer students form other institutions must complete at least 50% of the required credit hours at AFU. The last 30 required credit hours of the study plans must be completed at AFU
  • The minimum period of enrollment for the completion of a requirement is 6 regular semesters (inapplicable to transferred students)
  • The maximum period of enrollment for the completion of a requirement is 14 regular semesters.
