The College of Law at Al Falah University achieved second place in the Rashid bin Humaid Award for Culture and Science 2021, “Humanitarian Studies, Sharia and Legal Studies” held annually in the Emirate of Ajman organized by the Umm al-Muminin Association and with the participation of University professors and researchers in the UAE and GCC.

The College participated through a scientific research entitled "Formal Guarantees for the Public Employee in Administrative Investigation, an Analytical Study in Emirati, Jordanian and Egyptian Legislation" presented by Assistant Professor Dr. Muhammad Najm. 

University President Prof. Adi Arida said, "The University administration is proud for the accomplishment of the College of Law for receiving a prestigious award such as the Rashid bin Humaid Award for Culture and Science, which contributes to developing and improving the quality of scientific research of universities locally.” 

He also added that AFU’s participation in the Rashid bin Humaid Award for Culture and Science is always turning out to be successful, with AFU winning the first place in its previous participation. He also emphasized that the University is supporting the participation of faculty members, researchers and students in their scientific research as part of AFU’s strategic plan. 

Dr. Muhammad Najm - award's winner - stated “Supporting the scientific research movement in the UAE is an important step to achieve comprehensive cultural development. The Rashid bin Humaid Award for Culture and Science contributed to directing the efforts of researchers and academics to study vital issues that will have a positive impact in future generation’s creativity and innovation.” 

The prestigious award attracted 243 participants and the submitted papers were evaluated by an arbitration committee comprising of 147 academic, writer and researcher arbitrators. This year, the award covered several axes in the fields of scientific research, social and administrative studies including engineering, medicine, environmental science, nutrition, economics, and legal studies, in addition to social sciences, literary criticism and poetry. 

The Rashid bin Humaid Award for Culture and Science was established in 1983 under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi - Member of the Supreme Council - Ruler of the Emirate of Ajman in commemoration of his father, His Highness Sheikh Rashid bin Humaid Al Nuaimi.
