Al Falah University President Prof. Adi Arida honored a group of students from the College of Mass Communication who won first place in the competition launched by Dubai Customs, the “Intellectual Property Films for University Students”.
The President together with Dr. Hassan Mustafa, Dean of the College of Mass Communication and Dr. Ahmad Kamel, the faculty who supervised the students presented the certificates of appreciation for their scientific and community engagement.
Dr. Mustafa is hopeful that the award would encourage more creativity and innovation and enhance awareness of the importance of protecting intellectual property rights while assisting Dubai Customs in enhancing its social responsibility. He also added that AFU prioritizes the awareness and protection of intellectual property rights during lectures or through any activities and events.
The COMC students who produced the winning film are Rashid Hashem, Khalifa Al Hammadi, Mayed Al Shehhi, Majid Al Alawi, Jumaa Nasser, and Sultan Al Shehhi. Their victory comes after producing a video film that dealt with educating the society about public health preservation, the dangers of patronizing counterfeit goods and the need to protect individuals and companies’ rights from illegal exploitation.
