One of the goals of the wise leadership of United Arab Emirates to develop the educational process in the state and to promote the concept of patriotism through attention to the Arabic language as a language expressive of national identity, His Highness Sheikh Sultan Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Representative of His Highness the Head of State President of the Heritage Club welcomed a delegation from Al Falah University to discuss the development of educational curricula in the university system. His Highness called the need to simplify the curriculum and the removal of unnecessary materials in addition to the need to focus on graduating generations who are able to meet the needs of the labor market and serve the United Arab Emirates which is the responsibility of universities as scientific institutions contributing to the creation of a leading conscious and cultured generation.
The delegation headed by Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Sameer Barghouthi, Dean of the Faculty of Mass Communication, Dr. Khalid Henedy, Prof. Nasr Abbas, Director of Student Affairs Unit expressed their gratitude for the invitation of His Highness Sheikh Sultan Bin Zayed to the Nahel Palace. Prof. Nasr Abbas said that there are challenges for the Arabic language at the moment and stressed that Al Falah University is focusing on their various programs and specialties to practice the English language, especially in business programs, but at the same time a significant emphasis on the proper use of the Arabic language by the students and educators.
The visit comes within the activities of H.H. Sheikh Sultan Bin Zayed Heritage Festival 2017 organized by the Emirates Heritage Club and the Sultan Bin Zayed Centre for Culture and Media and will run until February 11, 2017 with the participation of various domestic and regional markets.
