Al Falah University held the closing ceremony of the first workshop of research on Thursday, April 28, 2016. The educational forum titled “Business Data Analysis: A Crossroad Between Research and Education" was organized in collaboration of Al Falah University and University of Salento, Italy, to support all areas of education through scientific research as well as to activate the research cooperation between the two universities. Other international universities including Anglia Ruskin University from the United Kingdom and University of Brescia from Italy also participated in making this event a success.
In this two-day workshop the Vice President of Academic Affairs of Al Falah University, Dr. Sameer Al Barghouthi, presented his research and discussed the market efficiency of Amman Stock Exchange (ASE) through the period of 2008-2014 in his analysis. In addition to this Prof. Dr. Amjad Al Nasser, Director of Quality Assurance and Institutional Research Unit presented the study of the relationship between transparency and happiness in the Arab world.
Our students also participated and presented their research that dealt with the causes of growing proportion of resignation in employees of private companies in the United Arab Emirates; and important factors that raise the percentage of visitors to the Emirate of Dubai.
At the end of the workshop the participants were honored with certificates. The presenters in the forum included Dr. Enrico Ciavolina of the University of Salento Italy, Dr. Maurizio Carpita of Brescia University in Italy, Dr. Mike Hobbs from Anglia Ruskin University UK as international participants. The research participation from Al Falah University was made by Dr. Bernadette Warner, Prof. Dr. Amjad Al Nasser, Prof. Attea Marrie, Dr. Mohanad Halaweh, Ms. Aysha Ehsan, Dr. Islam Bourini, Dr. Jamal Al-Harami, Dr. Sandra Fahmy and Dr. Sonia Singh; and two students Ms. Sheikha Zaabi and Ms. Hend Al-Tamimi from Al-Falah University.
Al Falah University is looking forward in the future to organize a number of specialized scientific conferences and workshops that will encourage the academic staff and students to excel in scientific research on the one hand and serve the output of higher education in the United Arab Emirates on the other.
