Graduation Requirements

AFU Students are eligible to graduate and obtain a degree from AFU upon fulfilling the following requirements:

  • The student must be registered at AFU during their graduation semester
  • The student has successfully completed all the required courses according to his/her major’s study plan.
  • The student’s final CGPA is no less than 2.0 on a scale of 4.0 for Bachelor degree and 3.0 on scale of 4.0 for Master degree
  • The student met the graduation eligibility period, by not exceeding the maximum number of years for graduation as stated in program duration policy.

Completion Requirements for students enrolled in Bachelor of Science in Business Administration

Undergraduate:

A bachelor degree is granted after a successful completion of the required credit hours and cumulative grade point average as following:

  • A student must complete 123 credit hours as follows:
    • - General Education Courses Compulsory: 21 credit hours
    • - General Education Courses Elective : 9 credit hours
    • - College Compulsory Courses: 51 credit hours
    • - Major Requirements: 30 credit hours
    • - College and Free Electives: 12 credit hours
  • The minimum cumulative grade point average required for a bachelor degree is 2.00.
  • Transfer students from other institutions must complete at least 50% of the required credit hours at AFU.
  • The last 30 required credit hours of the study plans must be completed at AFU
  • The minimum period of enrollment for the completion of a requirement is 6 regular semesters ( inapplicable to transferred students)
  • The maximum period of enrollment for the completion of a requirement is 14 regular semesters.

Graduate:

A master degree is granted after a successful completion of the required credit hours and cumulative grade point average as following:

  • A student must complete 36 credit hours as follows:
    • - Core Courses: 27 credit hours
    • - Specialization Courses: 9 credit hours
  • The minimum cumulative grade point average required for a MBA degree is 3.00.
  • Transfer students from other institutions must complete at least 60% of the required credit hours at AFU.

Completion Requirements for students enrolled in Bachelor of Law

Undergraduate:

A bachelor degree is granted after a successful completion of the required credit hours and cumulative grade point average as following:

  • A student must complete 135 credit hours as follows:
    • - General Education Courses: 30 credit hours
    • - College Compulsory Courses: 93 credit hours
    • - College Elective Courses: 9 credit hours
    • - Free Electives: 3 credit hours
  • The minimum cumulative grade point average required for a bachelor degree is 2.00.
  • Transfer students from other institutions must complete at least 50% of the required credit hours at AFU.
  • The last 30 required credit hours of the study plans must be completed at AFU
  • The minimum period of enrollment for the completion of a requirement is 6 regular semesters ( inapplicable to transferred students)
  • The maximum period of enrollment for the completion of a requirement is 14 regular semesters.

 

Completion Requirements for students enrolled in Bachelor of Mass Communication

Undergraduate:

A bachelor degree is granted after a successful completion of the required credit hours and cumulative grade point average as following:

  • A student must complete 126 credit hours as follows:
    • - General Education Courses Compulsory: 21 credit hours
    • - General Education Courses Elective : 9 credit hours
    • - College Courses: 60 credit hours
    • - College Elective Courses: 9 credit hours
    • - Major Compulsory Courses: 27 credit hours
  • The minimum cumulative grade point average required for a bachelor degree is 2.00.
  • Transfer students from other institutions must complete at least 50% of the required credit hours at AFU.
  • The last 30 required credit hours of the study plans must be completed at AFU
  • The minimum period of enrollment for the completion of a requirement is 6 regular semesters ( inapplicable to transferred students)
  • The maximum period of enrollment for the completion of a requirement is 14 regular semesters.
