Students may add or drop a course or more after he/she registered for that (those) course(s) up to the last day of Add/Drop period as per the University Academic Calendar.
If the student drops a course within Add/Drop period, the course paid fees will be refunded to student’s wallet and the course will not be recorded in the student academic history.
There will be no refund for a course dropped after the add/drop period.
Set procedure for Add/Drop will be applied by the Admission and Registration Unit and will follow the same steps required for registering a course.
If a student drops a course after the Add/Drop period, he/she will be considered withdrawing from the course, and the grade “W" will be recorded in the student’s transcript and will not be considered in the student’s CGPA calculations and the refund policy will be applied.
In summer semesters, add/drop of courses will be in the first 3 days of week 1.
If a student wishes to withdraw completely from AFU, he/she needs to submit a withdrawal and clearance form to Admission and Registration Unit along with an Exit Interview form to Student Affairs Unit. The end of the student academic record will show as" Withdrawn from AFU". In case the student wants to withdraw from the university and has an incomplete, incomplete procedure has to be followed and the student has to pay the registration fees of the semester in which he/she will sit for the incomplete exam; otherwise, the mark will be graded as “F”.
If a student wishes to re-join AFU again, then the student has to re-apply again for admission and registration according to the new admission and registration criteria of that program. In the case where the student is accepted to the same major according to the current admission requirements, the student can keep his/her previous academic record, provided he/she completes the graduation requirements according to the applicable study plan at AFU at the time of re-joining. If the student is accepted into a different major, the following section “Change of Major” will be applied.
